American Dad blows. I’ve seen at least 3 dozen episodes, I always give it a chance, and they’ve gotten maybe 2 or 3 laughs out of me all told. I can hardly believe that Fox and TBS both fell for hiring a guy who already has a wildly successful animated show to create another (and another other) show. How is McFarlane supposed to make 2, let alone 3, successful animated shows all at once? Obviously he’s not gonna cannibalize the success of Family Guy and end up with three mediocre shows. If The Cleveland Show and American Dad were ever on at the same time I would kill myself out of frustrated boredom. Or, you know, I’d probably just go do something else besides watch TV, but you get the idea.
